PreCare Outcomes
Treatment costs less than half that of traditional outpatient therapy
PreCare measures treatment outcomes not only in number of treatments, cost to claim file and return to work (RTW) status, but also in re-injury rates for same diagnoses. Your "frequent flyer" roster will diminish with PreCare.
Our effective therapeutic approach yields exemplary results. Employees who experienced injuries are discharged in an average of 7.4 visits - in part because our no-show rate for scheduled appointments averages less than 3 percent. And our treatment costs for occupational injuries average less than half of those for employees with similar injuries who undergo therapy at traditional outpatient physical therapy clinics.
Consider the experience of these PreCare clients:
Distribution center with 800 employees. Before the company contacted us, an average of 18 to 20 of its employees were undergoing physical therapy to treat injuries at any given time. Within 18 months of engaging PreCare's prevention and treatment program, the company's average therapy caseload dropped to just three to four patients. It is a fact; we work ourselves out of a treatment job.
Hotel operator. During the first year of PreCare service, the hotel’s employee injury frequency rate declined 24 percent, and its injury severity rating declined 60 percent. The hotel's workers' compensation costs, which had been $227,000 during year one, declined dramatically as well:
- $129,000 during the second year
- $55,000 during year three.
Municipality. PreCare enabled this city government to achieve a 17 percent decrease in frequency of claims, including a 50 percent decline in indemnity claims.
Retail chain. By assigning PreCare to conduct six hours of preventive coaching per week along with required therapy services in each store location, this retail chain was able to cut its physical therapy costs in half within the first year of service.
Transit system operator. Since PreCare began performing services, this transit agency experienced a 41 percent reduction in the number of claims filed and a 62 percent reduction in the actual cost of claims.
Manufacturer. Over a three-year span, PreCare services brought this manufacturer's incurred medical costs down to just 6 percent of what they had been. Look at this remarkable progression of incurred medical costs:
- 51 cases costing $694,405 in FY 2004-05
- 28 cases costing $164,868 in FY 2005-06
- 15 cases costing $41,719 in FY 2006-07
