PreCare Risk Solutions
PreCare believes injury prevention training and education programs play a key role in the reduction of injuries, disabilities, and cost. Our therapists work with the employer to determine methods to alleviate risk factors and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
Training needs are identified after the risk assessment process. Solutions are designed to correct any flaws in workplace design or incorrect worker habits that directly relate to musculoskeletal disorders. Our injury prevention programs educate both management and employees and encourage a team approach to successfully decrease the potential for injury in the workplace.
Employee Ergonomic Education and Training

Our sessions include:
- Upper extremity and back injury prevention
- Ergonomic risk factors identification using customized examples
- Neutral posture and body mechanics training
- Joint protection and work simplification techniques
- Strategies to reduce and prevent the risk of injury
- Exercise at work including flexibility and strengthening
- Educational resource booklet
- Pre-Post Test to assess knowledge
Job Coaching
To make changes in work habits and work style, employees benefit most with one-on-one attention on a frequent and recurring basis. The PreCare therapist works with employees as they perform their work tasks. This helps to reinforce good work techniques and provides appropriate intervention for poor work techniques. Job coaching can reduce the incidence of work-related claims.
New Employee Orientation
PreCare can provide new employees with injury prevention education and training. Reviewing ergonomic education and training components, therapists will work one-on-one with a new employee confirming their understanding of injury prevention and good body mechanics. Therapists provide job coaching to reinforce a new employee's work habits and posture as well as assisting with the ergonomic setup of their workstation.
Work-n-Stretch
PreCare designs customized exercises based on various physical demands at work. Structured stretch exercises promote a healthy workforce, reduce effects of repetitive motion, heavy forces, and awkward postures and can be completed in brief intervals throughout the day. The Work-n-Stretch program promotes stretch exercises for the hand and upper extremity, spine, and lower extremity.
Conditioning Classes
PreCare creates and implements conditioning/fitness classes for employers. With an aging workforce, and one that is increasingly sedentary, it is important that employers provide employees with an onsite conditioning program. This program provides the employees with an opportunity to improve and maintain their physical fitness through a program of flexibility, strength and cardio-vascular conditioning. Conditioning classes led by PreCare physical therapists are customized for the company and its employees.
Administrative Solutions
Management support and involvement is critical to preventing injuries and to sustaining positive results. It takes an ongoing commitment to risk identification and focus from key departments in your organization. Involving the PreCare physical therapist in regular management and safety meetings reinforces the importance of safe work practices and policies as relates to ergonomics. As part of the these regular meetings the therapist can report on findings and recommendations and share valuable input from managers on problem areas.
Engineering Focus/Equipment Options
After the risks have been identified, PreCare will make recommendations for appropriate solutions to manage work-related injuries in the work place. We focus on employees, management and the design of the equipment or workspace. If recommendations are made to modify the workspace or provide ergonomic equipment, PreCare will work with management to incorporate the most cost-effective changes. PreCare can work with the client's vendors or assist in finding the right company for ergonomic solutions.
